Inspiration
As an avid otaku, I've experienced firsthand the struggles of grappling with language barriers while indulging in captivating mangas. Realizing I wasn't the only one with the struggle, I created Mantra to break down those barriers and make manga accessible to everyone, no matter where they are or what language they speak.
Mantra isn’t just a tool—it’s a bridge that connects storytelling across languages and cultures. My goal is for users to experience the same thrill and excitement I feel when diving into new manga worlds, free from the constraints of language. Dattebayo!

Challenges
- Implementing In-App Purchases with No Experience
Honestly, I'm so grateful to discover RevenueCat through this hackathon. It does make my life as an indie app developer easier than ever. With their detailed documentation and active blogs, the entire process of setting up my subscription plan became much easier than expected.
- Designing an Ever-Changing Paywall
To comply with store regulations, I used to push new updates each time I tweaked my paywalls. Now with the powerful RevenueCat's Paywalls, I can remotely configure my entire paywall view directly on the website within seconds. This is probably my most favorite feature on the platform so far.
- Enabling Subscriptions Across Multiple Platforms
As of now, I'm only using RevenueCat for my apps released on iOS platform. Seeing how well it works, I’m very excited to use it for Android and Web in the near future. Now, I don't have to worry about store policy changes anymore since RevenueCat will take care of it for me.
What's Next
Driven by my passion for manga and comics, I’m committed to expanding Mantra across other platforms, including Amazon Store and the Web. Since RevenueCat already supports these platforms, shipping will be faster and easier. I look forward to growing my user base exponentially with their help.
