Inspiration

While creating our project, we were inspired by the 3 aspects that contribute to our wellbeing: physical, mental, and productive wellness. We asked ourselves the question: what is hindering our wellbeing? This ranged from things like stress, physical pain, and time management. We realized that at the core, we wanted someone to tell us what to do to help our wellbeing; someone to hold us accountable but also motivate us, someone like our moms.

What it does

MOM (manager of moments), takes daily tasks/to dos from the user and outputs an hour by hour task list. MOM is not like any regular task list maker, as it integrates breaks, positive quotes, and wellness tasks into the day to day using generative AI. It gives us reminders to rest, study, and take good care of ourselves

How we built it

We used the Gemini API and Google AI Studio. We prompted Gemini to output a JSON with personalized tone notifications for reminders of well-being and tasks and worked with that.

Challenges we ran into

Some roadblocks we had to overcome were learning how to use APIs and adapting to using Git simultaneously. To overcome this, we attended workshops and helped each other through this learning curve.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting the API to work and having a working project was an amazing feeling.

What we learned

We learned a lot about GitHub collaboration and how to implement an API into a website.

What's next for Manager Of Moments (MOM)

We want to possibly sync the reminders onto the user's main calendar and save the notifications from previous days. We would like to change the scope of tasks from a weekly basis instead of a daily one. We would also like to be able to change the task list after prompting MOM with new/changed tasks.
