Inspiration
As a baseball player, I know how tedious it is to track statistics by hand. When my coach mentioned that he had the same issue, I decided to create an app that would effectively address this problem.
What it does
Stores the team's roster, each player's statistics, each player's attendance and a list of equipment. It also sorts players by rank based on selected statistics and creates individual profile pages for each player.
How I built it
Using MIT App Inventor most information was stored in lists. These lists were stored locally in the TinyDB under a uniquetag.
Challenges I ran into
Mostly, I was constrained by time and lack of experience. When developing the app, I had issues with the sorting algorithm and storing the list of statistics.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Completing that app and solving the issues above. I am very proud that it functions correctly
What I learned
Through perseverance, problems can be solved. Also, I learned that drawing/writing out the situation when coding is extremely helpful.
What's next for Manage My Baseball Team
-Storing all data offsite in a database that allows for that data to be edited. -Tracking pitching statistics
