Inspiration

Poor Giovanni couldn't figure out on his own what could be causing the low customer ratings or overwhelming business costs the pizzeria he runs with his top-quality pizza recipe. As such, it was only right that I personally look into the data of his pizzeria's sales and deliveries to find out the causes for him.

What it does

I made an analysis comparing the process times, costs, revenues, and customer ratings of the Pizzeria Mamma Mia's data history.

How we built it

I used the Celonis software to create my analysis of the pizzeria delivery process data. The data itself was already provided, but I compared each type of data with each other until I found what exactly had an influence on the pizzeria's high costs and low ratings. Once I found those, I experimented with what changes and selections would influence those numbers for the better.

Challenges we ran into

At first, I ran into issues with setting up various data analysis operations such as the conformance checker and throughput time calculator, but found with the sponsors' help that I had not uploaded my data correctly. Upon fixing this, I had a much easier time finding correlations with properly functioning data.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I've never had experience with either a hackathon or data science before, so I'm pleased that I was able to come, attend the entire time, and finish an entire (if simple) project on my own. Additionally, I'm proud that I was able to find certain correlations between data without help from others, such as the different ratios between income and revenue depending on the day of the week, especially after it took me so long to start finding variation between large expanses of data at all.

What we learned

I learned a lot about how to use the Celonis software, as well as how to organize and analyze data to find correlations, causes, and effects. In this particular circumstance, I found that different workers performing the same jobs incurred different amounts of company cost, while the vast number of variations of the pizza delivery process worked to the delivery time's detriment, and that different days of the week had staggeringly different amounts of customers.

What's next for Mamma Mia, Pizzeria!

As Pizzeria Mamma Mia's project was oriented towards beginners, nothing is next for this project. However, it is my hope that Giovanni can work out his pizzeria problems with help from my analysis!
