Inspiration
I see that many women have mental health issues after having babies because of stress and postpartum depression. Some women may have to struggle with their mental health while transitioning to motherhood. The mental health disorders that mothers often face are depression, anxiety, or obsessive-compulsive disorder, which may surface during or after pregnancy. Moreover, birth-related post-traumatic stress disorder or a serious but rare condition called postpartum psychosis can happen following childbirth. Thus, I want to do something to make changes. I hope I can empower women and help mothers overcome their mental health issues and have health to care for their babies.
That is why I want to build this Mama-Mama website. A site that can help mothers reduce their stress and also tracks/monitors mothers' mental health to take necessary actions if needed.
What it does
The site allows mothers to write diaries to relieve stress. It transcribes video into text for busy mothers when they want to watch child care videos. The site also tracks and analyzes the mental health of mothers to alert and take actions if needed.
How we built it
- OpenCV
- Deepface
- Google Cloud Firebase
- AI
- Assembly AI
- Twilio
- Replit
- Gtihub
- Python
- HTML
- CSS
Challenges we ran into
- We had challenges to finish everything on time since we have many components that want to add to the site.
- We had many errors issues and we struggled to make our model work
- We struggled with connecting front and back end
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- We were able to create a site that can assist mothers to improve their mental health.
- We were able to create a model to classify images and capture humans' faces.
What we learned
We learnt about developing and transcribing video to text. We learnt about Deepface and Opencv to classify images.
What's next for Mama
We want to classify and improve our models more.
