Inspiration:

I always wanted to create a unique portfolio site that reflects who I am — something that feels personal, visually appealing, and memorable. When I saw the PortxFolio Hackathon, I knew it was the perfect chance to finally redesign my old portfolio and bring my vision to life.

What it does:

This portfolio website showcases my story, projects, interests, and contact information in a dreamy, clean, and aesthetic way. It highlights my personality, skills, and goals — all wrapped in an engaging design with smooth interactions and a functional contact form.

How we built it

I built the entire website from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no frameworks, no pre-made templates. Everything from the animated landing section to the image sliders and contact form was handcrafted and customized.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges was building the animated landing page and getting the horizontal project slider to behave responsively. Setting up a functional contact form with EmailJS was also tricky since I had to learn the whole flow of email integration in JavaScript. But overcoming each of these taught me a lot!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Yeah Finally I have an awesome portfolio. I’m proud of how much I learned and executed within a short time. The fact that I created a fully responsive, functional, and visually attractive portfolio from scratch — and it reflects my vibe — is an accomplishment I’ll always cherish.

What we learned

This project helped me understand DOM manipulation better, how sliders and animations work in plain JS, and how to implement external tools like EmailJS. It also helped me brush up on design thinking and user experience planning.

What's next for Maliha Bintay Zaman

I plan to improve this portfolio even more — maybe add a dark/light mode toggle, blog section, and integrate animations with libraries like GSAP. I also want to continue learning and eventually work on projects that combine design, storytelling, and impactful tech.
