Inspiration

Nexus project and stories of love and friendship of people who found each other on the Internet.

What it does

The hack that we propose helps for profit and non-profit organizations find each other and develop mutually beneficial relationships.

How we built it

The Natural Language Processing element was coded on Spider and executed in Jupyter Notebook. Basically, our sentence similarity model utilizes world vectorization and cosine similarity between two lists of texts and selects the description that has the most similarity to the input query. Design of the stickers and awards was developed on Canvas.

Challenges we ran into

Time management was our biggest challenge as this was a 48-hour hack. It was a challenge to make the whole way from brainstorming the solution to wrapping everything up to a succinct 3 minute presentation, Especially with only 2 members on our team!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We did this! We united AI implementation and marketing strategies in our hack, and came up with a very practical and impactful solution for our non-profit to address an ongoing problem that can be implemented right away.

What we learned

New Natural Language Processing Techniques Considering interests of a multiple parties of the problem (not only out client - the Chamber of Commerce but of the local businesses, corporate partners and non profits) Various technical skills (video editing, screen recording, voice recording)

What's next

Building the awareness of the meaning of these verifying window stickers, the awards for local social responsibility, and the directory. Developing the strategy of effective in-person events for profits and non profits - Business mixers.
