Inspiration

I was inspired by doing my previous games for mobile. Supporting blind and visually impaired people to play our games is one of our main priorities when we design the game.

What it does

Makeup Talk is a makeup mobile training game for women which fully supports VoiceOver or Talkback. The mechanics of the game is a solitaire when each card resembles an unfinished makeup in different stages of completion. The players go through the complete makeup process. The goal of the game is to complete 4 stacks of makeup cards which represent a complete makeup. The voice describes the makeup completed on each card, playing field and stacks of cards.

How we built it

Right now the game is in the design stage as we work on the graphics. The code which is responsible for game mechanics is almost completed.

Challenges we ran into

One of the main technical challenges providing support for visually impaired is how to refactor drag and drop game mechanics into one that is easily playable by visually impaired and blind people.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

All our games fully support VoiceOver.

What we learned

What's next for Makeup Talk Solitaire

Next step would be finishing graphics, then finishing all the code and we plan to present the game at game conferences this year. The game will fully support VoiceOver/Talkback.
