Inspiration

We found out that ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) spends 53 percent on employees and 10 percent on the legal cost to tackle consumer complaints. Around 20k complaints are received. Hence this was our inspiration. Government websites like ACCC comprise elaborate laws that cannot be personalized help for individual consumer complaints. Hence the emergence of our website.

What it does

It allows consumers to post complaints directly to producers where the store manager can resolve them.

How we built it

We used React.js for the client-side and Node.js and Express.js for the server-side, along with MongoDB for the database. For authenticating the users, we used Firebase. For styling the UI, we used React-Bootstrap and some other third-party libraries. We tried to keep the design minimal, focusing on Nielson design principles, and our priority was to give a good user experience.

Challenges we ran into

Time limit and deployment were the major issues.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We could finally deploy our project on Firebase.

What we learned

Working as a team with diverse backgrounds and putting the ideas together.

What's next for MakeMyComplaint

Collaborating with ACCC, Consumer Affairs Victoria. Dashboard for producers with the least complaints so that they are motivated to collaborate/subscribe to our website. Reducing employee expenditure of ACCC.
