Inspiration
For our inspiration we decided to look into clean energy and how modern day cities are trying to grow in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. In addition we were heavily inspired by the games, Stardew Valley and Factorio and wanted a mix in between that.
What it does
Our main gameplay loop is going to be about gathering resources to build a sustainable city with the main goal to make a big city without the use of environmentally damaging energy sources and pollution.
How we built it
We built it using Godot
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we ran into was setting up two of our computers to code since they were on windows which took a lot of time and Opus credits to set it up. In addition we did not have a concrete on the day of the Hackathon only loose ideas of what to accomplish in one day.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to make a submission on our first hackathon.
What we learned
Windows is a very labor intensive to set up for coding games. In addition we learned how important it is to have a concrete plan before going to a project.
What's next for Perennial
To have a finalized version of the game that would be released to the public
