after the phone company is informed a number they have provided (and are receiving payments for) is used for illegal purposes, they should close this account or themselves face penalties for violating do not call laws. These companies are making major profits and are providing the means for illegal use of their services, much like a cab driver knowingly assisting in a bank robbery!
