Inspiration
Over the last year and half, mental health has been a problem especially due to the pandemic and people being locked on inside their houses.
We felt like there was a need for people to hold themselves accountable and try to figure out how they can improve their mental health if they were suffering from this this is a problem that was solved by giving people a place to log how their feeling and potentially why that feeling that way every day for a number of days not only so that they can try and figure out why is there feeling down there and also so that they have a log for how they've been feeling for the past and number of days if they decide to visit a therapist.
What it does
Gives people a centralised place to log how they win feeling for any given day and also why they felt that way this will give them a database of how they been feeling for a certain period of time.
How we built it
We built it using elasticsearch, kibana, logstash, github actions, 15000 cups of coffee, no sleep, and the legendary Kartik Soneji.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges we ran into is we got depressed while building the hack and the hack gave us a place to log how we went feeling and try to improve our situation
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Some of the accomplishments we're proud of we built this in 6 hours with no sleep for the last 48 hours and we also manage to dunk 8 cups of coffee in 45 minutes.
What we learned
Importance of mental health, and learned elasticsearch, logstash.
What's next for Make Logs Great Again
We plan to add natural language parsing to analyze the journal entries, and a global search that searches through all the entries using Elasticsearch. A monthly and yearly mood and journal-entry sentiment overview graph with Kibana. Data export to csv, json, and other formats.
