Water scarcity is a large issue in modern day society, especially in underdeveloped, overcrowded countries. So, we decided to CAD a well to understand how one of humanity's best inventions work.
Inspiration: We learned about modified Atwood machines in AP Physics 1 class.
What it does: Acts like a well, pulling on the chain raises and tips the bucket, which dispenses water into the faucet.
How we built it: We used TinkerCAD to model and the Arduino kit
Challenges we ran into: We never used TinkerCAD before, it was very time consuming and difficult to reposition and proportionately scale dozens of parts.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: Learning how to CAD a complex project and make a simple hardware circuit.
What we learned: Hard work and dedication pays off.
What's next for Make a Wish, CAD a Well: Making a more complex, efficient system involving two or three pulleys and using more hardware to automate the well.
