Inspiration
2 things - bartender vr simulator and working at my girlfriend's grandparents distillery (and some reels on bartenders doing really cool flairs) started my inspiration for mixology. However, requiring to be of age to purchase ingredients and bartending licenses preventing working created a problem where there was no way for me to learn about mixology without being 21, at least in the state of WA. I wanted to create a way to cook up, or I guess, pour up and practice working the bar virtually.
What it does
Learn recipes and practice mixing cocktails via the virtual bar, and serve to customers! Turn off the guide to practice pouring from memory, and have customers tune their preferences to help you work on your weak points.
How?
- The bar is built with Next.js and TS, with Three.js for the station. Rapier was used for the ice tray and ice physics.
- Gemini creates each customer and writes their orders (hard coded fallback without Gemini API)
- Gemini also scores the drink, depending on accuracy
- Every player has memory stored via Backboard, which remembers what mistakes a player often makes and helps focus on weak spots
