Inspiration

I was really fascinated by how quantum computing is becoming more important, especially with how Microsoft is using something called Majorana particles. I wanted to make a simple project that could help explain this idea in a visual and beginner-friendly way. It also gave me a good excuse to practice my web development skills.

What it does

The website explains Microsoft’s Majorana-based quantum computing approach using simple text, visuals, and some light interactivity. It’s designed to be informative while still looking modern and easy to navigate.

How we built it

I built the project using HTML and CSS for the structure and style, and I added a small script to handle animations and make the experience a bit more dynamic. Everything is hosted on GitHub Pages, and I used GitHub to manage version control.

Challenges we ran into

One big challenge was getting GitHub Pages to actually show my website ,I had to learn how to structure the files correctly and rename things the right way. It was also tricky designing everything without using any frameworks like Bootstrap or JavaScript libraries, so I had to keep the code clean and simple.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud that I got the site working and live on GitHub Pages. It’s my first time publishing something like this, and I’m happy with how it turned out. I also feel like I understand quantum computing a little better now too.

What we learned

I learned a lot about how to structure a basic website, use GitHub effectively, and work with GitHub Pages. I also got more comfortable writing and organizing HTML, CSS, and a little bit of JavaScript. Plus, I learned the basics of what makes Majorana qubits special.

What's next for Majorana

Next, I’d like to add more interactive explanations, maybe with diagrams or animations that explain how Majorana particles work. I’m also thinking of turning the site into a mini-series about other quantum computing topics as I learn more.
