Inspiration
I created SignUpFor.it as a counter to complex registration and ticketing systems like EventBrite. I also wanted to build a system that incorporated a strong social component, where people could discuss an upcoming event (kind of like evite, minus the obnoxious ads plastered everywhere). After using many ticketing systems, I took this as an opportunity to really simplify the process for both organizers and attendees.
What it does
Signupfor.it makes it easy to create a signup form using minimal information. The signup forms are clean and add-free. Attendees can complete/submit sign-ups using their social media profiles (Google, Facebook, or Twitter) or email addresses.
How I built it
I built this project using the angular-seed project on GitHub.
Challenges I ran into
It was really difficult to manage user logins across a variety of social networks.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
This was my first time incorporating a commenting system, and I was able to develop a pretty smooth one on the event page.
What I learned
I learned a lot about developing a single-page application, but I stopped short of integrating a payment system (like Stripe Connect) or a robust admin panel, which is what I would have liked to do next with this project.
What's next for Signupfor.it
I sold the project on flippa and it's currently being managed by another developer.
