Inspiration
Seeing family members struggle with set-up do to lack of motor strength/precision and experiencing the difficulties of setting up personally.
What it does
Assists in setting up mahjong games by stacking and rotating rows of tiles to allow people with motor issues set up their pieces.
How we built it
We designed the project using the CAD software Onshape, where we designed each component from scratch and assembled them using the software's mates and constraints.
Challenges we ran into
Deciding which mechanisms would be more efficient/practical, designing and assembling components with no overlaps or conflicts, and ensuring dimensions are accurate and plausible.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making a cohesive design which comprises of multiple sets of unique mechanisms.
What we learned
We learned several knew techniques and machines within Onshape and learn how to design integrate multiple systems together.
What's next for Auto Mahjong
A polishing on manufacturability of the product while maintaining its functionality and compact size.
