Mahjong Arena
Mahjong Arena is a classic mahjong game with a competitive twist. Compete against other Redditors in the daily Arenas — think fast and earn coins.
Game Modes
Daily Arena
Redditors compete on a new Arena published every day, racing to solve the same mahjong board as quickly as possible. Depending on how well they perform and their position on the leaderboard, players earn between 1 and 5 coins.
King of the Hill
In this mode, Redditors spend coins they’ve earned to create Hills, UGC posts.
When creating a Hill, a random mahjong layout is generated, and the creator must solve it as fast as possible. Once completed, the Hill is published on Reddit, the creator becomes the King of that Hill, and earns 1 coin for every player who challenges their time.
Other Redditors can spend 2 coins to challenge the current King.
If they get a slower time, they lose their 2 coins and can try again.
If they beat the King’s time, they take over the Hill and become the new King. From that moment on, they earn coins for every new challenger.
A Hill can only be claimed by beating the current King’s time, which means the longer a Hill stands, the harder it becomes to take the crown.
Practice Mode
A training mode with four difficulty levels. No coins are awarded here, it’s all about sharpening your skills and playing for fun.
Mahjong Arena makes full use of Devvit’s core strengths. Automatically published daily posts bring large groups of players together at the same time, while UGC-based Hills create an extra layer of competition and engagement for the Reddit community.
