Inspiration:
Mahila Mahashakti aims to provide a common platform for all women to come together, seek help and guidance, uplift each other, and work towards becoming better versions of themselves. Hence, we have launched our website which gives women resources to educate themselves, learn new skills, and easily communicate with each other for personal development.
What it does:
Mahila Mahashakti aims to help women from all over the country to connect, interact and grow via our product. In our product, we've introduced features that enable women from all over the world to connect, share their problems, and grow in every respect. We believe that a single action can make a difference in the community and that collective action can greatly impact the world. Through advocacy and outreach activities, we will work tirelessly each day to contribute our part to the greater good. We welcome all of you to be part of our ever-growing community! We need both men and women in our journey, as we strive to change the gender equation of our country. Be the change by being a part of the change.
How we built it:
Mahila Mahashakti is compatible with a website. With its help of it, we can allow women from each corner of the world to connect with each other and share their experiences. When experiences are shared, it gives hope that people aren’t fighting battles alone and that they have the support of a larger community now. Our multilingual product solves the problem of approaching different people to solve queries related to work, hygiene, education, etc. by making use of the following features:
- Chalo Chat
- Viksit-Vyapaar (small scale business)
- Skill-Seekho (upskilling courses)
- Milaap (collaboration)
- E-Granth (virtual library)
Challenges we ran into:
More often than not, women are mostly subjected to household work and there is very little interaction that they have with the world outside their homes. They remain unaware of the work that the other women are doing and this is one of the main problems that our product aims to solve. When women find out the great variety of work that's done around them, they get motivated to push their own boundaries and jump out of their comfort zones. Due to less interaction with the rest of the world, they miss out on the advantage of sharing ideas, picking nuances, and doing collaborative work that not only results in better outcomes but also shapes personalities.
Accomplishments that we're proud of:
Mahila Mahashakti successfully builds a platform to normalize, spread awareness and spark conversations about sensitive topics. We believe in making a space where an individual as a whole can act naturally, be held, approved, and acknowledged for what their identity is.
What's next for Mahila Mahashakti:
To bring women from all walks of life, whether rural or urban, together on a shared platform to cooperate and engage in order to provide a safe environment for women to thrive and grow together.
