MahaKumbh is a grand event, but its environmental impact is concerning due to massive waste generation. We aim to integrate sustainable solutions to make the event eco-friendly while preserving its cultural essence. An idea-driven initiative to promote sustainability at MahaKumbh 2025 through biodegradable alternatives, smart waste management, and public engagement. Submitted to the Uttar Pradesh government for implementation. Inspiration MahaKumbh 2025 is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, but its environmental impact is significant. Inspired by sustainability, we proposed this idea to the Uttar Pradesh government to implement eco-friendly measures that reduce plastic waste and promote responsible disposal. Problem Statement High plastic waste from disposable items like plates and water bottles. Lack of waste segregation leads to pollution. No incentives for attendees to adopt sustainable habits. Proposed Solutions Biodegradable Alternatives – Replace single-use plastics with compostable materials like areca leaf plates and cornstarch utensils. Waste Segregation Bins – Install color-coded bins across key locations with easy-to-understand signage. Reusable Water Bottles & Smart Refill Stations – Provide refillable bottles and set up purified water stations to reduce plastic dependency. Incentive-Based Waste Disposal – Introduce a QR-based reward system where users earn discounts for responsible waste disposal. Eco-Education Campaign – Conduct awareness drives to educate pilgrims on the religious significance of environmental conservation.
