Inspiration
Powerschool and similar online grading programs are bad so we thought we could make a better version
What it does
It provides a way for a school to set up an online service to manage student grades
How I built it
Javascript, HTML, lots of other stuff
Challenges I ran into
Not enough time, confusing code in places, could not port forward
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Created a successful system for communication between the server and the client, created a class hierarchy system in order to manage all relevant objects (School, courses, assignments, users, etc.)
What I learned
Learned a lot about javascript in the process, and some of my teammates delved deeper into HTML and web sockets
What's next for Grades Tech
If we had more time we would love to clean up the code, document the code, set up a running website on our .tech domain, with properly forwarded ports, and add features to the service such as more information for each object
