Inspiration: Our inspiration for the Magic Mirror was fairy tales such as Shrek, and also the growing mental health crisis.
What it does: Magic Mirror Mental Health gives user's someone to talk to when they are feeling stressed or struggling with mental health crises. It looks at the user's profile where the user can voluntarily enter information about themselves to help the AI tailor a response towards them. The AI is themed as a mirror, to help add a lighthearted spin to the website.
How we built it: We built this website using react, typescript, html, CSS, and the Google Gemini API.
Challenges we ran into: The biggest challenge we ran into was learning how to style our website and get the functionality and logic displaying on our page.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: 1. Effective use of the Gemini API to take in user data, and have a tailored prompt. Simple, User-Interface.
What we learned: We learned about the react framework, and how to interact with the Gemini API. Also, we learned a lot about web design and improved our understanding of LLMS.
What's next for Magic Mirror Mental Health: Improved User-interface, speech capabilities for the Magic Mirror and voice input for the user. We'd also like to add a more detailed profile for better interactions with the requests.
