Our Inspiration
When we were younger, we have always created obstacle courses in our living room to run through it blindfolded with each other's directions to guide us. Out of this game of trust, we were able to develop receive-and-respond skills that are extremely important for children at that age. This game is catered towards stimulating children's minds while maintaining the elements of fun.
How to Play
The player is prompted by Head Wizard Iveus to accept a quest to become a full-fledged wizard. The player is then assigned to the avatar named Gobo. Using the arrow keys, the player will be able to pass through three different obstacle courses in order to retrieve the three items required for wizard-hood.
How we built it
The game was built with Scratch and embedded into our webpage using HTML and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
Debugging scenes within the game was frustrating at times, but with systematic testing we were able to catch majority of the misaligned action sequences in the time allotted.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of how seamlessly the story-line, action, and animation came together in this project. As we were building the setting, characters, and game tasks, we came up with so many 'editions' that we are super excited to work on in the future. The game itself is entertaining and engaging, and we hope players will enjoy it too!
What's next for Magic In Me
Players will have the option to choose from an array of avatars to play the game. We are thinking of giving each avatar a diverse background and cater the quests to their specific talents. For instance, if the avatar has bird-like features, its story will take place in the sky. Future developments of the game will center around the avatar's story.
