Inspiration

Being hard-working college students our team wanted to find a way to make even the most monotonous of days a little more enjoyable, duck style!

What it does

Our game was designed to be the ultimate hybrid between madlib and choose your own adventure. Now even the busiest of students can escape for a while and live the simple life of a recently hatched duckling.

How we built it

We used JFrame to build all of our front end and buttons and Java to create classes, singleton instances, and store data.

Challenges we ran into

This was the first time any of us had used JFrame so we had to learn how to use it as we programmed. There were quite a lot of roadblocks since it became very complex to weave an interesting narrative while keeping our code structure efficient.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were successfully able to use git version control like branching and merge requests to create code in a responsible way. We also communicated effectively with each other and had fun!

What we learned

We learned a lot about using git for version control and how to use Jframe.

What's Next for Madlibs: Choose Your Own Adventure

Initially, our team wanted to use our game to help gamify tasks that people were not looking forward to doing. Our team hopes to make this a reality in the future using the code template we have created this weekend with our duck narrative.
