The Department of Agriculture has requested an update to their system for listing Made in Hawaii products, with the goal of growing Hawaii’s agriculture industry to help reach the Governor’s self-sufficiency goal.

This site allows producers to register and enter their contact information, and then login to create and maintain their list of products. Within the data which was provided by the Department of Agriculture, there was a huge variety of products, often in very fine-grained detail. This has been converted into suggested product categories to encourage specific information to be entered in a more consistent way. Since the tree is large, a search tool makes it fast for producers to locate the desired category to populate their list.

The Department of Agriculture staff is then able to update the registry to show that Made in Hawaii status for that vendor has been verified, and buyers are able to search for products by category or description and then contact the vendors directly.
