๐ฎ Inspiration
In creating Storm Gliderz, the goal was simpleโto build an easy-to-pick-up endless adventure runner game with a left-right swapping mechanic, while remaining adequately challenging yet welcoming. The thrill of gliding through storms, and storm elements, dodging obstacles, and collecting coins inspired a fast-paced adventure where players must master the art of timed precision movement.
What it does
Storm Gliderz is a high-flying runner game where players navigate hot air balloons through fierce storms, avoiding obstacles while collecting coins. The game features a left-right swapping mechanic, ensuring an exciting challenge while remaining accessible. Players must master precision movement to conquer storm winds, dodge hazards like volcanoes and mountains, and chase high scores.

To bring the vision to life, we experimented with staging weather dynamics, procedural generation of all assets for enhanced gameplay experience and level progression. The development stack included: -Procedural Generation for all assets - With Object Pooling, creation, spawning, and keeping track of assets is achieved.

- Camera API โ Providing adaptive viewpoints and smooth scene transitions.
- Focused Interactions โ Designing minimalistic UI for uncluttered, immersive gameplay. Quick Controls, Stacking & Interrupting Drag Inputs for enhanced gameplay experience.

- Meta Horizon API โ Enabling realistic motion and interactive environments.

- Mastering Codeblocks & TypeScript โ Structuring movement mechanics took repeated iterations to refine swapping mechanics.
- Camera API Optimization โ Ensuring smooth transitions that felt cinematic yet controlled.
- Level Building Complexity โ Crafting progression curves where difficulty scales naturally without sudden difficulty spikes.
-Environment and Assets generation without AI - Since we are in Europe, AI generating tools are not available. - Balancing Challenge & Fun โ Making storm navigation tough yet rewarding, without overwhelming players.
- Mastering Left-Right Drag Mechanism โ The swapping controls had to feel seamless and responsive, without causing frustration.
- Enabling โTapโ for Fortunate Balloons โ These coin multiplier balloons had to appear at the right time and feel rewarding while maintaining the flow of the game.
