Inspiration

Although many physicians and hospitals still maintain paper records, there is a drive for electronic records. Filing cabinets are giving way to desktop computers connected to powerful servers, where patient records are processed and archived digitally. Medical transcription offers profound benefits to patient and physician. From a physician side, the digital format allows for immediate remote access by any physician who is authorized to review the patient information. For patients, the digitalization of health data has opened tremendous opportunities in self-advocacy.

What it does

The medical assistance database is an interactive web application that helps streamline the workflow for physicians while simultaneously being user friendly enough for patients to use. Using Azure, voice to text is initially used to transcribe patient information to our database before being updated on the website app. Patients, physicians, and nurses can then log in to access the data at a moment’s notice by logging onto the website application. Amongst other features, individuals can have dates of future surgeries added to the website application.

How it was built

The web prototype and UI design was done through Adobe XD to create a quick working demo without the back-end.
