Inspiration
What inspired us to build this was to provide a service for something that does not exist on the operating system we use daily.
What it does
FSMetrics monitors storage 24/7 on all areas of any disc, local or network based. It monitors user activity as well as throughput, I/O performance, capacity, user-quotas, and contains an auto-alert feature.
How we built it
Built using Swift with SwiftUI and SQLite
Challenges we ran into
Making sure testing and build worked across multiple versions of swift, macOS, and user devices. NFS implementation was difficult to set up on a local network.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Made it work on different specs and provided a useful service on other's devices with very little obstacles.
What we learned
Implementing systems to work on other's devices with proper toolchains, tool versions, and public services.
What's next for macOS FSMetrics
UI improvements, large-scale drive support, OpenClaw testing, local model testing (Qwen most likely).
