MAANG Prep Portal – Full-Featured Interview Preparation Platform

Inspiration

As an aspiring software engineer preparing for top tech companies like Meta, Amazon, Apple, Netflix, and Google (MAANG), I noticed that most existing prep platforms lack material, personalized mentorship and deep technical explanations. The process to get everything for preparation is very hectic, I wanted to create a centralized space combining AI guidance, real interview questions, and curated learning resources for serious candidates — all in one portal.

What it does

The MAANG Prep Portal is a comprehensive platform that helps students and professionals:

  • Practice real-world coding questions from MAANG & other top tech interviews
  • Get personalized explanations and tips from an integrated AI Mentor
  • Access handpicked learning resources (DSA, System Design, Java, .NET, etc.)
  • Track progress, get difficulty-wise practice, and stay job-ready all at one platform.

How we built it

  • Frontend: HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, JavaScript (future plan: React.js for dynamic UI)
  • Backend: PLSQL, Supabase as IDE
  • Database: MySQL for managing questions, answers, and user data
  • Demo: Use Netify to deploy and display live demo of the project.
  • Security & Auth: Role-based login system for Users(Admin role for future)

Challenges we ran into

  • Designing a modular structure to support scalable question banks for different companies
  • Ensuring AI responses were contextually accurate and helpful
  • Creating an intuitive UI that balances both learning and testing
  • Managing performance while dynamically generating and storing user queries/answers

Accomplishments we're proud of

  • Built a fully working interview prep portal with AI mentor integration
  • Successfully tested question flow and AI responses for road map, preparation and Mock interview.
  • Created a clean interface for managing and browsing questions by topic, difficulty, and company

What we learned

  • Deepened understanding of Bolt.new AI.
  • Gained experience integrating AI APIs into a production-level project
  • Understood the value of user-centric design and making learning interactive
  • Improved skills in managing structured data and delivering personalized content

What's next for MAANG Prep Portal(For Future expanding)

  • Add more companies like Microsoft, Uber, Atlassian, Adobe, etc.
  • Add more roles for admin with different permissions to add preparation materials and feedback's from interviewers who'd already cracked the interview with steps and the process.
  • Expand AI Mentor capabilities to provide code walkthroughs, time-space analysis, and mock interview simulation and AI which can create and provide question/answers for interview preparation
  • Add a Mock Interview section for practicing Interview by AI
  • Deploy the platform and open it to beta testers for real-world feedback
