Every single day thousands of natural disasters hit just the United States. Resource allocation is one of the most important topics of discussion. We are solving this problem by utilizing AI.
Our inspiration was to help those who are affected by the turmoil caused by natural disasters. Often times, we have resource to allocate, but where these resources go is not efficient enough - people who need the resources the most do not often get them. Ensuring equity in resource distribution is essential in helping save lives and speed up disaster relief.
We built our project using multiple different platforms. For our backend, we used Open AI's API. For the front end, we utilized Figma, React, and CSS files. In order to merge the frontend and backend we used Replit.
We faced numerous challenges. Especially when combining the front end and back end, we had no idea where to even start in terms of merging the two. Everyone had varying skillsets and expertise level, so learning on the go was definitely challenging.
We would love to expand this AI tool to help people across the world and allocate resources as efficiently as possible.
