Inspiration/What It Does
Many Millenials transitioning into independence and busy families tend to struggle with creating and planning a concise and inclusive grocery list, leading to food wastage and unnecessary spending on last-minute shopping trips to the grocery store. M.O.M. is an app designed to be the invisible helping hand in streamlining the process of planning and shopping for homemade meals, while considering the needs and wants of everyone in their home.
How we built it
We use Figma to create a UI prototype.
Challenges we ran into
When we were coming up with the ideas for the app, we initially considered too many elements and found it difficult to keep it simple enough for anyone to be able to use and logically implement it into their daily lives. We created a flowchart to simplify the idea for what would be most useful for the average person and will consider the other ideas in premium plans in the future.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Made our first hack!
What we learned
We learned the UX design application on the go while creating out prototype.
What's next for M.O.M
M.O.M. could potentially expand to implement a premium plan to mold its suggestions ot the daily intake preferences of every individual in the house. This algorithm would be able to consider the food needs of a keto individual consuming 1000 calories a day and a paleo individual consuming 2000 calories a day by finding the best cuisines to suit both needs. This would allow the shopper to avoid buying different foods for each individual’s needs and have a cost-efficient plan. The premium plan would also suggest these recipes that would be food compliant for all these individuals.
