About

Our project aims to address the physical and mental health problems faced by people working from home who may suffer from a lack of exercise and a balanced lifestyle. We believe the core issue lies in it being especially difficult doing something challenging alone without support or a community. On the other hand, we also know that playing with friends and family is extremely fun and exciting. Thus, we aim to develop a web application that offers ‘multiplayer’ gamified workouts with integrated video calling features. In this app, we provide workouts that are separated into different stages (exercises) that can be tracked by a progress bar, where each stage is a list of fitness challenges. Friends and family can also join the workout as well and the user can also see how they are progressing in real-time. Through these functionalities, users can have competitions with their friends to see who can finish first, or support and encourage one another if someone is falling behind in collaborative sessions and games. To facilitate this interaction, we also integrate a group video call feature straight on our website. The main challenge that our programmers faced was debugging. It took many hours and attempts to find the issues within our program. It was also difficult brainstorming an idea for our web application. Trying to develop a web app that addresses the theme of working from home, and also being innovative and unique was harder than expected.

How to use the demo:

Select HIIT Fitness adventure (it's the only one available now, sorry!) and enter a room with your name. A friend who also enters that same room will join the workout session with you! Enable video and voice from your browser for calling functionality.
