Our app targets landlords facing compliance challenges with the eRITS system, providing an API-driven solution that simplifies tax filing through a user-friendly mobile interface.

Inspiration

The project was inspired by the need to simplify and modernize Kenya's rental tax filing process, making it faster, mobile-friendly and accessible for all landlords

How we built it

we built it using Python (FastAPI) and MYSQL database, integrated with the KRA API for PRN generation, and designed a mobile-friendly interface that automates rental tax filing and ensures smooth, secure transactions.

What's next for M-Erits

we are planning to develop a multi-user support, enabling seamless collaboration, and launching a pilot program to gather user feedback and ensure effective real-world application.

We’ve made great progress refining M-Eritis! The team has improved the app’s functionality, especially around automating PRN generation through the KRA API. We’re also working on optimizing performance and adding a smoother user interface for landlords to file taxes easily.
