What it does

The crowded in Hajj is a reality and there is no way to solve this issue due to the facts of:

  • The huge number of pilgrims +2.3M.
  • The limited size of Hajj area (33 Km).
  • The government vision (2030) is to double the total number of pilgrims.

Our creative solution is to manage the crowded situation proactively to prevent the pilgrims before the crisis happened, below is pillars that we focused on: - Monitoring crowd characteristics and statistics using image analysis techniques, artificial intelligence, and deep learning. - Realize suspicious movements and prevent terrorist acts during congestion.

Challenges we ran into

It is a massive work to implement such a solution and the way is tricky and fully enough by the obstacles, we will share with you some of them:

  • The huge number of pilgrims.
  • The small space of the holy sites.
  • Accessing the IP/ CCTV systems, including the government permission.
  • IP/ CCTV resolution & quality.
  • Support to install the solution facility/ components (camera, network, ..).
  • Building the Software engine.
