Inspiration
The idea for LyvStreem was born from observing the explosive growth of platforms like BIGO, yet recognizing the lack of personalized, creator-first alternatives in emerging markets. We wanted to build a streaming platform that combines real-time interaction, monetization, and vibrant digital communities—with a more localized, inclusive, and polished user experience.
What it does
LyvStreem is a next-generation live streaming platform that enables creators to: Broadcast live videos to global audiences Engage with fans in real-time via chat, gifts, and reactions Monetize content through virtual gifts, paid streams, and sponsorships Host multi-user live rooms, audio chats, and competitions Build creator profiles with badges, ranks, and follower growth Use fun tools like filters, effects, and background music during streams Designed with a modern UI, LyvStreem makes going live feel premium and interactive.
How we built it
We built LyvStreem using a combination of no-code and low-code tools, with special focus on scalability and real-time features: Video streaming APIs (e.g., Agora, 100ms, or Zego) for smooth, low-latency broadcasting No-code UI builders like FlutterFlow or Adalo for designing sleek mobile interfaces Firebase for real-time data syncing (comments, likes, live view counts) In-app currency system with virtual gift management and wallet tracking Authentication and user roles for creators, viewers, and moderators Push notifications for stream alerts, follower activity, and events
Challenges we ran into
Ensuring low-latency, high-quality streaming while staying within mobile data constraints Balancing performance and design on no-code platforms Setting up a secure and scalable gift/payment system Managing moderation tools and content safety, especially in a live setting Integrating real-time chat and reactions smoothly without lag or crashes
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Built a fully functional live streaming app with modern features using bolt.new Enabled creator monetization from day one Created a sleek, immersive dark-themed UI that rivals major players Successfully deployed multi-user rooms, gifting, and real-time chat Developed a clear brand identity with LyvStreem as a community-driven alternative to BIGO
What we learned
Live video tech has matured, and can be integrated efficiently with no-code platforms Community features like gifts, badges, and chat are essential for retention Monetization must be intuitive, transparent, and rewarding to both creators and users The importance of content moderation tools for a safe, engaging experience Building for mobile-first users requires UX thinking and lightweight design
