Inspiration

Albany came up with the idea for this business in high school, where she founded her club and business with a similar mission: to support the environment and educate youth. With a passion for helping others and improving the world around her, she started a club focused on community service projects and teaching children about environmental stewardship. This initiative was funded by her business, which sold eco-friendly products. Building on this foundation, we sought to significantly impact the environment and the future by collaborating with other corporations and expanding the club’s influence globally. At Georgia Tech, Albany found a group of like-minded individuals, and together, the ideas grew. Thus, LYFE was formed.

What it does

LYFE is a sustainable consulting company that helps our partners optimize supply chains and ensure they meet increasing environmental regulations using advanced technology. We use a unique LYFEscore that provides real-time insights into environmental performance, driving cost reduction and compliance. We also offer an e-commerce platform that gives our high-scoring LYFEscore partners access to our exclusive platform to reach eco-conscious consumers.

How we built it

We built a webpage using React and then linked and created buttons/pathways to an entire consulting website. We designed an online store to sell products and documents using our 3D printing models, company information, and the Java code for a sensor and its properties.

Challenges we ran into

Learning React for the first time proved challenging, as mastering the framework took considerable time and remains a work in progress. Designing and framing our web pages into a cohesive project and pitch required significant grit and effort. We are also focused on optimally integrating our multifaceted technology innovations while ensuring that our project secures IoT devices and complies with data protection laws. Lastly, we are refining the UI/UX design features to ensure they are implemented as intended.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of building interactive interfaces for our partner companies and consumers. We are also proud of using new coding languages like React and SCAD to construct a 3D model and our front page. We started with an ambitious idea and turned it into a good base for what we hope to be a future company.

What we learned

Again, we furthered our knowledge in several languages, enhanced our teamwork, project management, and communication skills, and gained insights into creating engaging interfaces. We gained a deeper understanding of the real-world issues related to environmental sustainability.

What's next for LYFE: Sustainable Consulting and E-Commerce

Moving forward, we plan to enhance our skills in various programming languages and strengthen our hardware skills to further develop our company. We are taking our idea to CREATE-X to start our firm! We aim to expand our operations by building eco-efficient warehouses and developing a sustainable transportation network to achieve a net positive environmental impact. Our vision includes green warehouses that generate renewable energy, minimize waste, and optimize energy use while introducing electric or alternative fuel-powered vehicles for deliveries. Through these initiatives, we strive to lead the industry in sustainable logistics and inspire broader eco-friendly business practices across the supply chain.
