Inspiration

Back in school, I remember struggling with logarithms and asking my father for help. His response was, “Sorry, I can’t remember — it’s been too long.” That moment made me realize an important truth: humans, no matter how willing, have limitations. AI, however, doesn’t forget and can guide learners tirelessly. This inspired me to build Lurnov — an AI-powered mentor that helps students dive deeper into their subjects and achieve mastery without being limited by human memory or availability.

What it does

Lurnov is an AI learning platform that focuses on true conceptual clarity, not rote memorization or rank pressure.

  • Provides customized CBSE curricula (grades 6–10) for 20M+ students in India.
  • Offers concept checks instead of generic MCQs.
  • Detects recurring error patterns and helps students correct them.
  • Integrates a Pomodoro timer to improve focus and study habits.
  • Uses RevenueCat integration for seamless subscription and access management, ensuring smooth scaling.
  • Brings high-quality education to remote areas, clearing doubts and supporting students at every step of their course.

How we built it

  • Designed AI pipelines for concept-based questioning and detailed explanations.
  • Built error-pattern detection to track and correct repeated mistakes.
  • Integrated focus tools (Pomodoro) for better learning habits.
  • Developed CBSE-specific curricula aligned with class 6–10 standards.
  • Added RevenueCat integration to simplify subscriptions and enable flexible monetization.
  • Combined AI APIs, backend services, and a responsive frontend to create a seamless experience.

Challenges we ran into
