About the Project
Inspiration
I noticed that in many villages, people don’t have access to proper hospitals or checkups. Simple problems like trouble breathing or an irregular heartbeat often go unnoticed until it becomes serious. I wanted to create something that could bring real health monitoring directly to people’s hands — using just a phone.
What I Learned
This project taught me how to turn a regular phone into a powerful health tool. I learned how to record chest sounds, filter out background noise, and train AI to detect lung and heart problems. I also explored TensorFlow.js for real-time analysis and learned to generate professional PDF reports that users could download.
How I Built It
The app records sounds from the chest and processes them using AI to detect any irregularities. It gives clear results on the screen, shows a live sound meter, and creates downloadable PDF reports. I focused on making it easy to use, even for someone who’s never seen a hospital device.
Challenges
The hardest part was making the AI accurate with just a phone microphone. Background noise and subtle heart or lung sounds made it tricky, and designing an app that’s simple yet professional took a lot of trial and error. But every challenge taught me something new and made the app stronger.
Impact
Now, even people in remote villages can check their heart and lung health without traveling long distances. This small device in their pocket could help detect problems early and save lives.
