Inspiration
Women’s healthcare involves challenges that often go beyond accessing medical services. Tracking symptoms, understanding medical reports, organizing health records, and recognizing changes over time can be confusing and overwhelming. We were inspired to build Lunelle — Your Health, Your Story, a digital platform that helps women better understand and manage their health through accessible information, symptom tracking, and AI-assisted health education.
What it does
Lunelle brings women's health-management tools together in one platform. It is designed to support symptom tracking, personal health information management, AI-assisted health education, medical report interpretation, and explainable health patterns. Features such as a personal health timeline, medical document storage, and reminders aim to help users keep relevant information organized. Lunelle focuses on improving health awareness and supporting informed conversations with healthcare professionals rather than replacing medical diagnosis.
How we built it
We approached Lunelle as a user-centered digital health platform, prioritizing an intuitive interface and a supportive user experience. The design uses a warm ivory and sage-green palette, elegant typography, and a clean layout to make the experience approachable. The technical implementation brings together the frontend, application logic, data management, and AI-assisted functionality used in our prototype. We focused on structuring the experience around key health-management tasks and making information easier to navigate. The final technical description should reflect the actual frameworks, databases, APIs, and services used in our implementation.
Challenges we ran into
One of our main challenges was balancing a simple user experience with the complexity of women's healthcare. Health information must be understandable without oversimplifying important details, and AI-assisted explanations must be presented responsibly. We also had to consider the sensitivity of personal health data, the importance of clear navigation, and the need to distinguish informational insights from medical diagnosis. These considerations shaped our approach to the platform's design and functionality.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud to have developed Lunelle around a meaningful healthcare challenge and a clear goal: helping women become more informed participants in their healthcare journey. The platform brings several important health-management concepts into one experience, including symptom tracking, health education, report understanding, and personal health information organization. We are especially proud of the focus on accessibility, user-centered design, and responsible use of AI in a sensitive domain.
What we learned
Building Lunelle reinforced that healthcare technology requires more than adding AI to an application. It requires thoughtful design, clear communication, responsible handling of sensitive information, and an understanding of the limits of automated outputs. We learned the importance of designing around real user needs, presenting complex information clearly, and treating safety and privacy as essential considerations rather than optional additions.
What's next for Lunelle
Our next steps are to improve Lunelle through user feedback, usability testing, and continued development of its health-management features. We aim to strengthen symptom-pattern explanations, improve medical report interpretation, expand accessible health education, and support more personalized experiences. We also plan to evaluate the reliability and usefulness of implemented features and strengthen privacy safeguards. Our long-term vision is to make Lunelle a trusted digital companion that helps women better understand their health and have more informed conversations with healthcare professionals.
