Lunch Leader

Inspiration

Our group of coworkers wanted to create a fun, social web application to decide which lunch place to go to.

What it does

You and your group of friends can join a room and easily pick restaurants and upvote the places that you want to go to.

How I built it

We used Meteor and Semantic UI to build it.

Challenges I ran into

Rapidly integrating our work throughout the day took quite a bit of planning.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We spent a lot of time going over the user workflow to make sure it's easy for anyone to participate in lunch leader (e.g. no passwords to remember).

What I learned

Our team had limited experience with Meteor and we quickly ramped up in just a few hours of starting the hackathon.

What's next for Lunch Leader

We plan on building the gamification effect by creating a reputation system. If you consistently suggest the most popular lunch places, then you will be the "lunch leader" on the leaderboard for your group.
