Inspiration
We were inspired by a few apps; the first being Forest, a productivity app that grows a virtual tree while the user focuses on being productive, and the other being Plant Nanny, a water break reminder app that uses a similar concept to incentivize users to maintain healthy habits.
What it does
Lunaria allows you to create your own virtual, sprawling garden of plants as well, by ensuring that you start consistently saving your money for whatever purposes you choose!
How we built it
We used the T3 stack to build out the app, which consists of Next.js, NextAuth.js, Prisma, Tailwind CSS, Auth0, and tRPC. Jack was the only team member who was actually familiar with this tech stack, so he hard carried the team (hey we all learned tho!!!)
Challenges we ran into
- CSS is painful
- Auth0 had issues in the beginning with the package dependencies we had installed
- The T3 tech stack doesn't allow (as) easy applications of React components as the entry point/structure is different
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Learning about what Tailwind is
- How to center text
- Learning about the T3 stack in general
- The plants were all hand drawn/animated
- Not dying
What we learned
- How to center text
- How 2 use tailwind
- Refer to above
What's next for Lunaria
- Social networking (so you can share your plants with your friends)
- Ducks
- More easter eggs
Built With

- github
- next.js
