Arduino projects: traffic light experiment, sound alert, motion sensor

What it does

GATE (Gateway Analysis & Troubleshooting Experiment) is a proposed infrastructure and architecture built from IoT devices on NASA's Gateway. This network architecture, and specifically this demo'd solution, helps crew members monitor temperature levels of certain areas both inside and outside the modules of the Gateway lunar outpost.

How we built it

The signal hub (Arduino & Breadboard) illuminates one of three LED indicators depending on surrounding air temperature. If temperatures are too high, a red signal appears. If stable, a green light appears. If cold, then a blue light appears. Signals are accompanied by an LCD display for additional information.

Challenges we ran into

• First time C++ Programming • First time using Arduino • First time using circuits • Had to acquire hardware components (breadboards, connections, LEDs, sensors)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Software • Solving LCD screen misconfiguration • Solving LED signal firing logic

Hardware • Connector configurations • Short circuit risk mitigation
