Inspiration

The project began with an interest in exploring the intersection between transparency and strength—how quiet, minimal elements can still carry meaning and impact. It was driven by the idea that AI is not just a toolbox, but a creative partner that enables human intent to flow into new forms.

What it does

Luminous Drift is a multidisciplinary piece that combines music, visuals, and narrative—generated and refined with AI tools. It explores the aesthetic and emotional space between stillness and movement, light and shadow, clarity and ambiguity.

How we built it

The project was developed end-to-end using AI-based tools alongside manual editing: ChatGPT: for developing the concept, narrative, and writing in both Hebrew and English. Suno: for composition, arrangement, and vocal synthesis, through iterative prompt-based experimentation with tone and rhythm. Midjourney: for creating visual motifs around themes like glass, water, breath, and light, using a restrained and consistent visual style. CapCut: for final video editing, including compositing, typography, timing microbeats to narrative flow, color grading, and motion integration.

The process moved from a lyric draft refined through tone and meter prompts, to music and vocal stem generation in Suno—favoring intimate over theatrical takes—to visual sequence creation in Midjourney and smooth motion expansion via optical flow, and finally to a fully edited, synchronized video in CapCut.

Challenges we ran into

Finding balance between automation and manual control across tools. Achieving visual and audio coherence while working with multiple generative outputs. Tuning prompt specificity to get consistent results across iterations. Managing file formats and cross-tool compatibility without breaking narrative rhythm.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a fully AI-assisted, artistically coherent piece from concept to completion. Maintaining creative control through curation and precise manual editing. Building a workflow that integrates different AI tools seamlessly. Achieving a result that feels intentional, calm, and conceptually unified.

What we learned

Creative constraints enhance clarity and emotional impact. AI can effectively augment creative work but does not replace human judgment. High-quality output comes from a mix of accurate prompting, careful selection, and hands-on refinement. In certain cases, simplicity, silence, and negative space can carry more weight than dense effects.

What's next for Luminous Drift

We’re looking to expand the project into an interactive installation or a real-time generative performance format. Further experimentation could involve motion-tracking, spatial audio, and user-influenced AI responses—allowing audiences to engage directly with the core themes of transparency, rhythm, and co-creation.
