Inspiration

LUMINOIR was born from the duality of light and shadow—“lumi” meaning light and “noir” meaning darkness. We wanted to create a brand identity that reflects the emotional depth, elegance, and quiet strength of modern femininity. Perfume branding often relies on literal imagery, but our inspiration was to transform scent into symbolism: geometry for precision, curves for sensuality, and an abstract bottle that embodies inner radiance. LUMINOIR is a tribute to the women who glow even in their darkest moments.

What it does

LUMINOIR presents a luxury perfume brand concept defined through a sophisticated abstract logo, cohesive visual identity, and powerful storytelling. The project captures the essence of empowerment, mystery, and elegance through design. Instead of simply showcasing a fragrance, LUMINOIR expresses a feeling—a brand designed to resonate emotionally and visually.

How we built it

We used iterative design thinking, sketch exploration, abstract symbolism, and AI-assisted visualization tools to craft a bottle emblem that blends geometric faceting with soft line-art motion. Precision linework, serif typography, and a refined monochrome palette were combined to create a modern French-couture aesthetic. Each iteration focused on enhancing symbolism and uniqueness.

Challenges we ran into

Creating a perfume logo that was elegant but not generic was the biggest challenge. Many designs felt too literal, too busy, or too similar to existing beauty branding. Finding the perfect balance between abstraction, femininity, and luxury required multiple refinements and ruthless quality filtering.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a logo that feels iconic, intentional, and emotionally expressive—something that looks like it belongs to a real couture fragrance house. The blend of geometry and softness, paired with the meaning behind LUMINOIR, results in a brand identity that stands out from typical perfume designs.

What we learned

We learned how subtle changes in line weight, symmetry, negative space, and abstract form can completely transform the emotional impact of a logo. We also realized the importance of purpose-driven design—every curve must carry meaning, not decoration.

What's next for LUMINOIR

We plan to expand LUMINOIR into a full brand universe: packaging design, fragrance variants (LUMINOIR Rouge, Velvet Mist, Nocturne), animated logo reveals, typography systems, and a complete campaign aesthetic. Our next step is to evolve it from concept to a full luxury brand experience.
