Inspiration

This project is grounded in the shared human experience of struggle and support. Everyone has, in some way, been touched by mental health challenges—either personally or through someone they care about. That reality inspired us to create something that makes help more visible, accessible, and immediate.

What it does

Our project helps The Suicide Prevention Network (TSPN) reach every home in Newcastle through a three-stage transformation. First, we consolidate the brand—bringing clarity to services, messaging, and structure so people can easily understand where to turn. Next, we elevate the value proposition by making services more accessible, including real-time visibility of relevant and available support—giving people hope when they need it most. Finally, we build awareness across the region through a community-driven campaign designed to spark conversation and connection.

How we built it

We used a range of AI tools to bring this to life. GitHub Copilot supported the website uplift, while tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Canva, and others helped generate content, campaign assets, and supporting collateral.

Challenges we ran into

As non-native coders, we faced a steep learning curve—particularly in executing the technical elements of the website transformation.

Accomplishments we’re proud of

We’re proud to have created a solution that could meaningfully enhance TSPN’s reach and impact, alongside a campaign with the potential to connect with and support a wide audience.

What we learned

We discovered that AI can accelerate and expand what’s possible—far beyond our initial expectations—especially when applied creatively.

What’s next for Luminesce

Next, we hope to see the platform and campaign go live, measure their impact, and scale the approach across broader regions and communities.
