The Source of Inspiration
In the realm of Web3, projects with established business models (such as trading, payment, staking, GameFi, SocialFi, etc.) are in urgent need of user traffic. However, there is a lack of native and customizable traffic marketing tools on the blockchain. Despite the existence of many Web3 task platforms, most of them are dedicated to helping new projects attract new users by incentivizing users to follow Twitter or join Discord through token airdrops. But the quality of these airdrop tokens is inconsistent, making their real value questionable, and users face challenges in actual monetization. Moreover, the onboarding tasks do not fully align with the actual business scenarios of the projects, leading to task platforms increasingly filled with "sheep party" members, lacking attractiveness to genuine users.
For users, choosing among the many homogenized project parties in Web3 is extremely difficult. Users need an entry point that can meet different on-chain needs, helping them filter out quality project parties while providing additional income incentives.
We delved into the marketing models of many Web2 projects and found that merchant rebates and lottery models are two very effective traffic marketing methods. Merchant rebates offer users tangible discounts, while the lottery model can amplify the perceived cash value to users at the same rebate cost through a leverage effect, making traffic marketing more attractive and eye-catching. Therefore, we ingeniously combined the rebate model with the lottery model to create a comprehensive task-based traffic distribution platform based on CashBack.
What LuckyTask Does
LuckyTask has implemented a fully decentralized on-chain lottery protocol and a fully decentralized cross-chain task rebate protocol. The combination of the two has created a traffic distribution platform based on lottery rebates.
On this platform, users can be guided to participate in high-quality project parties selected by the platform to engage in transactions, payments, staking, and other activities. While fulfilling these daily Web3 needs, users receive rebates from the project parties, which are added to the prize pool in the form of a lottery and distributed periodically to participating users, bringing them the surprise of actual lottery benefits.
Project parties can attract more users from outside their own platforms by adjusting the amount of rebates, while increasing user stickiness and gaining the ability to market traffic. Thanks to the protocol's guarantee, the project's rebate funds are completely transparent, and the lottery behavior is completely fair, completely eliminating the possibility of false rebate marketing.
The Way We Built It
Our underlying architecture consists of a decentralized lottery protocol and a task rebate protocol. The lottery protocol mainly uses Chainlink's VRF technology to provide on-chain random number access, ensuring security and fairness. The task rebate protocol mainly uses Chainlink's CCIP cross-chain technology, allowing our task model to support different blockchain networks and better meet the needs of different on-chain project parties.
Challenges and Solutions
In the early stages of the project, we were troubled by the fragmentation of traffic on the blockchain. Some project parties are built on Ethereum, some on layer-two networks, and some are deployed on networks like BSC. If we deploy our protocols on each network, our traffic and lottery funds will also face fragmentation. Thanks to Chainlink's CCIP technology, we only need to deploy the lottery protocol on one network, and then use the task protocol supported by CCIP technology to achieve cross-chain, meeting the task needs of different on-chain cooperative projects.
Achievements We Are Proud Of
We started from scratch to create a fully decentralized product that can bring additional marketing traffic to project parties, while allowing users to gain additional income without increasing their learning costs, achieving a win-win for all parties.
What We Learned
In just one month, we quickly researched the needs of many Web3 project parties and quickly iterated this lottery rebate plan in response to the pain points of project parties and users. This hackathon also gave us the opportunity to contact more blockchain innovation teams, deepening our understanding of different directions of blockchain.
The Future of LuckyTask
LuckyTask platform is committed to becoming a lottery traffic platform focused on Web3, actively connecting with various vertical business leaders in Web3, and creating a series of Web3 traffic matrix entrances with CashBack characteristics.
