HabitHack was born out of a personal need. Like many others on the path of self-improvement, I struggled to stay consistent with my habits. I tried countless habit tracker apps, but they were always too cluttered, too distracting, or trying to sell me something. What I wanted was simple: a clean, functional tool that helped me stay disciplined and focused on the things that really matter. So instead of continuing to consume, I decided to start creating.

HabitHack is a minimalist habit tracker built to help users create momentum, build discipline, and track their daily habits without distractions. From custom habits and daily check-ins to features like Memory Lane and motivational quotes, the app gives users everything they need — and nothing they don’t. The goal isn’t to gamify your life. The goal is to make it easier to show up every single day.

The app was built using Bolt.new for the frontend and Supabase for backend functionality like authentication, database, and user management. I focused on building a smooth, clean UI and a lean architecture that puts the user experience first. Every feature is designed to support discipline, not get in the way of it.

Of course, the journey came with its challenges — especially around user authentication flows, handling account deletion while syncing with Supabase auth, and maintaining a smooth experience without relying on tools like n8n or edge functions. Debugging row-level security and linking the auth system with custom logic in the profiles table also took some careful thought and iteration.

Still, I’m proud of what HabitHack has become. It’s fast, focused, and built with care — and I use it myself every single day. Seeing something that started as a personal side project now growing into a fully functioning app with real users is one of the most rewarding parts of the process.

Along the way, I learned not just about Supabase or frontend logic — but about building tools that actually solve problems. I learned that simplicity is a strength. And that when you build something you truly believe in, everything is possible. I needed every single token in bolt that i could get - after the last prompt i literally had 0 tokens left!

Next up for HabitHack: releasing it on the App Store and Galaxy Store so more people can use it. I also plan to introduce smart reminders and the possibility to download his own journal entries. But at its core, HabitHack will always stay true to its mission: helping people stay disciplined and consistent, one habit at a time.
