What it does

LowCust acts as a normal drone but is main selling point is its low cost and its expendability

How we built it

We built our model out of foam board to make it lightweight and by repurposing old Raspberry Pi's and cameras. We also used the open source openCV library to add a machine learning object detection system into our drone

Challenges we ran into

A lot of the firmware we wanted to integrate into our project was available for Linux only so we needed to find ways to circumvent the software walls

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Calculating the optimal wingspan and constructing a full model of our drone

What we learned

there are many walls when trying to work with physical objects that need to be properly considered

What's next for LowCust

if given more time and potentially a budget LowCust could potentially become a product on the market.
