Inspiration
Our experiences with dating apps weren't good. We have met people in real life who do not match up to their dating profiles at all.
From this disappointment with dating apps, we felt that a person's personality is completely left out of the equation. We know we understand a person's behavior reflects their personality, Matthew had a VR kit... so we got to work
What it does
It shows you a mockup of an individual and their profiles for you to select. A press of a button allows you to see a 15 seconds snapshot of them, together with actions and recording, allowing you to feel that they are right in front of you.
Swipe right if you like the person, Swipe left if you don't like the person
How we built it
We built it together together using Unreal Engine 4, VR Toolkit, Adobe Creative Suite.
Challenges we ran into
We have a tough time figuring out how to implement this in VR. We had to look up how to deal with human physics, and create things in VR.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We implemented an immersive virtual world, and had realistic examples for the users to interact with.
What we learned
We learnt how to figure out features through properly identifying the problems, and iterating our product through the design thinking process.
What's next for LoVR - Virtual Reality, Real Love
Figure out how to record peoples gestures. Getting more people to join LoVR so that matches can happen!
