Inspiration

When I was young, I often felt misunderstood — like nobody really got me. People assumed I knew nothing, and my thoughts and feelings were overlooked. It reminded me of Taylor Swift’s song “When I Was Young”, where the innocence of childhood meets the frustration of being unheard. This inspired me to create LOVI: a gentle space where every child’s questions and emotions are truly heard and valued.

What it does

LOVI is an AI companion designed to help children aged 3 to more than 10 explore their imagination and ask their biggest questions safely. It also supports parents by providing thoughtful, empathetic answers and guidance, creating a bridge of understanding within families.

How we built it

I built LOVI with the help of Bolt, despite having zero knowledge of advanced coding—just the mindset and determination of a prepa student. Using no-code/low-code tools and integrating AI technologies, I crafted LOVI step by step, learning as I went.

Challenges we ran into

The biggest challenge was my lack of prior programming experience combined with the complexity of AI integration. It was daunting to bring together the technical and emotional aspects in one project. Balancing my demanding prepa schedule while learning new tools also pushed me to manage my time and focus carefully.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We managed to create a working prototype that captures the essence of empathy and curiosity. LOVI is more than just an app; it’s a digital companion that helps bridge communication gaps between children and parents, and that’s something truly meaningful to me.

What we learned

This project taught me that passion and perseverance can overcome technical barriers. I learned the basics of AI integration, no-code platforms, and how to shape technology to serve human emotions. Most importantly, I realized that listening to others — even through a screen — can make a real difference.

What's next for LOVI

Next, I plan to improve LOVI’s natural language understanding to better capture children’s emotions and expand its storytelling features. I also want to test LOVI with real families to gather feedback and make it more user-friendly and impactful.
